Old hispanic ladies gossip like a muhfucka, and it’s crazy how they could hug and smile at each other, and then gossip about what the other one was wearing to church right after mass. They’d raise their hands with the peace sign and wave it around while smiling and shit, acting as if they really cared. Masks everywhere. People would nod as the priest spoke his sermon, pretending to learn shit, pretending to give a fuck. Saying sorry for the same shit they said sorry for the last week. That was when it hit me: church, at least the one I frequented, was a club for hypocrites and I hated all of them.
